Apart from regular meetings, during every year there are couple special events – occasions for club members to meet other TMI club members, participate in different levels of contests and conferences, in which they can practice speaking or leadership skills, learn new skills from educational sessions, or just enjoy a get-together with other Toastmaster members of the clubs worldwide.

Speech contests are important parts of the Toastmasters International educational program. Speech contests provide an opportunity for speakers to gain contest experience and feature interesting educational programs for Toastmasters members. They also allow those Toastmasters and guests who are not participating in contests to learn by observing the speakers.
The contests are organized twice a year (spring and autumn). The spring contests offer the International Speech Contest and Evaluation Contest, whereas the autumn contests consist of the Humorous Speech Contest and Table Topics Speech Contest. The winners of the club contests represent the club at the Area contests, the Area winners at the Division contests, and the best speakers compete at the District conferences for District 59 (continental Europe).
Once a year – during Summer month – Toastmasters from around the world meet in the International Convention.
